The Sunday Times Survey of small business and cloud: 82% currently use at least one cloud service up from 54% last year, 71% expect to increase their use of cloud in the next 12 months, 8% have already moved all their IT to the cloud and a further 62% expect to do so at some point in the future. In 2016 more than one business per week moved their IT to the Ashley Clarke Cloud Platform.

Cloud computing helps all! take Uber and Airbnb both are often exalted as case studies of global startup mastery. Both are valued in the multiple billions of dollars and, such is their success, have created a new genre of business – the so called sharing or “access” economy.

But these businesses would be nothing without the technology upon which they operate. Without cloud computing delivered via software as a service (SaaS) they would have remained concepts, nice ideas with no realistic prospect of traction. Both companies leveraged cloud technologies to expand their computing power and scale.
